North Carolina May 4, 1758 20s PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 40.
Although certainly not problem free, as PCGS indicates with its apparent grade, this is the nicest looking and most intact example we've seen for any of these extremely early North Carolina typeset notes. PCGS notes "stains; repairs; designs and signatures redrawn." The comments are totally correct, but the percentage of the note that has been repaired is far smaller than what we are used to seeing. Only five letters of the text are affected and the edges of the note are original all of the way around. Extraordinary quality from an extremely rare issue that is unpriced in any grade in Newman.
