North Carolina March 9, 1754 8d Boar PCGS Extremely Fine 40.
Another very rare note and in a more than acceptable grade. PCGS has assigned an italic 40 noting splits, tears, minor damage, and repairs. PCGS has graded only a single example, presumably this piece, and PMG has yet to see one. We cannot locate an example in our archives, which indicates that Newman did not have one worthy of selling as a single. Another extreme rarity and, although the boar lacks the detail and beauty of some of the other vignettes, it has a certain Colonial era charm with overtones of a good breakfast. It is not without its allure.
