    Description

North Carolina December, 1771 £5 Drum, cannon & flags PCGS Choice About New 58.
The PCGS archive indicates they have not seen another problem-free uncirculated example of this five pound December 1771 North Carolina note. The cross cannons, drum, and flags vignette is wonderfully sharp, all four signatures are strong and the note has unusually broad margins that show the indentation of the plate edge. The 58 grade is for a light corner fold and it is italicized for a small edge tear at the left. A beautiful note.
