North Carolina April 4, 1748 6s PMG Fair 2 Net.
The Act of April 4, 1748 authorized £21,350 in indented Bills of Credit that were given legal tender status at Proclamation Money rates. The notes were to be used to redeem old bills with the remainder to be used for fortifications and public debts. 2000 6s notes were printed for this issue. The main design element for this denomination is a fleur-de-lis. Time has not treated this note kindly. The only reason for its continued existence is that someone literally pinned the note together on a period paper backing. The two colonial era pins are still in place. While the note is not destined to win any "Top Pop" awards, it is, in fact, both rare and a really neat historical artifact.
