North Carolina April 23, 1761 20s Gem New. Far and away the single finest example of this issue that we have ever seen. It's magnificently bright, with four strong signatures, pure white paper and even all its original embossing. As a combination of grade and rarity, this is by far the single finest note from this incredible collection. There is an About New in this collection, and we've sold one About New in the past. But for those two notes, we've not seen any note from this issue above the Extremely Fine grade, and neither Newman nor Friedberg prices them higher than Very Fine. We had no idea that there was any note extant from this entire issue with the quality of this piece, and this cataloger has been dealing in Colonial Currency for 40+ years. Incredible.
