Complete April 2, 1776 56 Note Set First Ever Offered Intact

North Carolina April 2, 1776 $1/16 Beetle PCGS Very Fine 25.
We have sold only three examples of this note, with this the finest of the three. It is the lowest denomination from the issue and comes in six vignette varieties. Two areas of tape on the back account for the italic grade. The important beetle vignette is sharp enough to be creepy and the overall appearance of the note from the face is quite strong. PCGS has graded only two examples, both either apparent or italic, with this the better of the two. PMG shows none in their census, although we have sold a PMG 15 example in our 2009 Midnight Ride Collection auction.
