    1780 $50 "Liberty" PCGS Very Fine 25

North Carolina 1780 $50 PCGS Very Fine 25.
This is an exceedingly rare and unusual type. Though dated August 8, 1778 on the face, the back is dated 1780. There are three motto types for the notes, all of which are $50 denominated. with themes relating to Independence, Liberty, and Persecution. Only 498 were printed of each motto, and few have survived. When great collections are offered true rarities come to light. Graded by PCGS as Very Fine 25 with restorations that appear trivial as the extreme rarity must be taken into account.
