Poughkeepsie, NY- Constitutional Society of Dutchess County 2 Pence Jan. 11, 1791 PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 40.
Listed on page 300 in the 5th edition of Newman. Small change notes were issued in Dutchess County with the printed signature of Edmund Per Lee, Treasurer. Printed by Nicholas Power at Poughkeepsie. Hand numbered and with a blank back. PCGS notes a small repair and paperclip rust stain but nothing is really visible except for when the note is candled. A very scarce piece of early New York scrip that fits quite well in either a colonial or obsolete collection. Several years ago we sold a couple of these for several hundred dollars each. This is easily the highest graded note of the few we have sold.
