    Description

New York September 2, 1775 $2 PMG Choice Very Fine 35. A pair of storks is seen in the emblem on the back of this $2 that includes the motto, SALUTARIS SIBI PARENTIBUSQUE (fortunate for itself and its parents). Only 5,000 of these $2 notes were printed as part of this issue and this example is numbered 4134. The red ink signature has faded as is typical, however enough remains visible to determine that Jeremiah Brower was the signer. The black ink signature of Thomas Tucker remains dark. PMG has graded only three examples of this Friedberg number.
