New York September 2, 1775 $1 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
$112,500 (£45,000) in legal tender Bills of Credit payable in Spanish milled dollars redeemable in 1776 and 1777 was authorized by the Resolution of September 2, 1775. 10,000 $1 notes were printed as part of this issue. The face depicts the City of New York coat of arms while the back has a sheaf of wheat with the motto ACERVUS E PARVIS GRANDIS (out of small things a great heap will be formed). The note is well printed with good margins and a clear signature of A.J. Bleecker. PMG mentions some stains that are more visible on the back and are not a major distraction.
