High Grade Bright and Beautiful Extremely Early New York Colonial
New York May 31, 1709 10s PCGS Very Choice New 64.
This is the only extremely early Colonial note that is available (using a very loose sense) to the collecting public. There are perhaps 20 or 30 of these that exist in high grade between the two denominations. There are two varieties of this 10 shillings both with this date. The primary distinction between the two is the spelling of the word Governor. This is the variety with the more modern spelling as opposed to Governour. The note is beautiful, fully uncirculated and problem free save for extremely light mounting remnants on the back which PCGS has mentioned as the reason for the italic grade.
