New York April 21, 1760 £10 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35.
"Like the April 20, 1756 issue, all notes from this series are rare. Printed on thin paper by William Weyman. The note is bright overall, and its listed faults, "Splits, Tears, and Repairs," are not severe. A pleasant note with sharply penned signatures." That was our description for the Newman example which was graded PCGS 20 Apparent and was nowhere as nice as the currently offered piece. The Newman note and this note are the only two we have sold, save for a true rag in a group lot. Two of the three signers on this note are different than the Newman note. The apparent was assigned to this seriously rare early New York for, "restorations," with no particular fault singled out. The most major of the restorations is a replacement of the lower right corner tip that does not affect any of the design. Outstanding condition for this issue and likely to triple the $352.50 that the Newman piece brought.
