    Description

New York April 18, 1786 Counterfeit £3 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25.
This is the first note that we have been able to offer an example of this number--well, almost the first note, as it is a contemporary counterfeit. We see that genuine notes are unpriced in any grade in both the Newman and Friedberg references. The apparent grade is for being pen cancelled, severed and repaired at center, and for having a small hole near the top center.
