New York February 17, 1776 City and County of Albany 1s PCGS Very Good 10.
Another rare official municipal issue and the second series emitted by the City and County of Albany. This small, uniface typeset note was printed on laid paper. It is dual-denominated in Sterling and dollars. The interesting obligation states that it is payable in "Continental Currency." This also has the same date as the third series of Continental Congress notes. This note saw a lot of time in circulation. As PCGS indicates, it has some major splits, tears, and damage and has been contemporaneously sewn together. It is backed as well. The good news is that are thought to be only about 3 examples known. Almost never seen in any grade and very collectible.
