    Description

New York August 13, 1776 $2 PMG Very Good 8.
20,000 $2 notes were printed as part of this issue. The $2 design features the City of New York coat of arms on the face and an emblem depicting two storks with the motto SALUTARIS SIBI PARENTIBUSQUE (Fortunate for itself and its parents). This note has seen a good deal of time in circulation and has the usually expected edge roughness, splits, and the like. PMG mentions a stain along the bottom border. While in somewhat humble condition, the note is intact with clear design features.
