Two-Color Second Set-up Plate 3 Pounds
New Jersey March 25, 1776 3 Pounds Fr. NJ-182. PCGS Very Choice
Printed in red and blue that remains very vibrant. This example is a "second set-up plate" variant. It has wide, clear margining on all sides. Only the left margin might be classified as close, but is more than ample; the other margins are extremely wide for this type. Face and back printing are superbly rendered. The Isaac Collins sage leaf back is highly detailed. This has all the eye appeal of "PPQ" and its superior margins frame an outstanding example. A gorgeous New Jersey two-color note.

A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
