Elias Boudinot Signature - Director of the United States Mint

New Jersey- First Presbyterian Church ND (ca. 1790) 1d PCGS Very Fine 20.
Sometimes surprises pop up where they are least expected. The First Presbyterian Church in Newark issued a series of small change notes, with values ranging from 1d-6d circa 1790. They were signed by none other than Elias Boudinot, lawyer and statesman, who served as the Director of the United States Mint from 1795-1805. The note itself is a simple typeset affair that has survived the last 231 years without suffering any repairs or serious condition impairments. A historic note worthy of any collection and formerly part of the Eric P. Newman Collection.
From the Colonial Valley Collection, Part II

    Estimate: $200 - up.
