New Jersey 1786 1s PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25. These notes are quite rare in any grade and this is the only example of a New Jersey 1786 1s note that has appeared in our auctions. It has been estimated that only a few dozen examples exist today. The 1786 issue was the last Colonial issue from New Jersey. This plate "A" note is serial number 29032 and was sold as Lot 4157 in Part XVII of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection auction. Isaac Collins printed these notes on "NEW JERSEY" watermarked paper with black and red ink on the face. The nature print is a sage leaf. This note was signed by J(ames) Ewing and B(enjamin) Smith. PCGS included a notation on the holder concerning multiple repairs and closed splits. Ex: F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
