    Description

New Jersey June 9, 1780 $8 PCGS Choice About New 55PPQ.
Neither service has graded an Uncirculated example of this note. It's tied for Top Pop at PCGS. PMG has graded a single 58 as their Top Pop. The note is well margined on the face, beautifully printed on both sides and through the holder has the impact of a choice new note. Fully signed on both sides, with the signature of David Brearley on the face. Brearley was one of the signers of the United States Constitution seven years after he signed this note. The guarantee on the back is signed by Joseph Borden, who signed only this issue. He was also a delegate to the Stamp Act Congress of 1765 and the namesake of Bordentown, N.J. In our 2010 Central States Auction we sold a PMG 55 EPQ of this same note for $1207.
