New Jersey June 9, 1780 $4 PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ. Only 12,000 of these notes were printed. Watermarked paper with "UNITED STATES," in two lines was used. This example was signed by D. Brearley, who was a signer of the U.S. Constitution. The guaranty was signed by Jos. Borden--the namesake of Bordentown, New Jersey. The note is every bit of the 64PPQ that has been assigned, and although some minor defect may be present, through the holder, it certainly appears to be a full Gem. This is one of the nicest examples that we've handled of this much scarcer New Jersey issue. PCGS has not yet published a Colonial population report, but PMG has graded ten examples of this note with not a single one of them being Uncirculated.
