    Description

New Jersey June 22, 1756 6s PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35.
Several denominations from this issue are listed in Friedberg without values, simply the comment "Rare," and this is one of those pieces. This example is numbered 253 and retains the dark signatures of all three signers. It is only the fourth example that we have been able to offer according to our archives, with this example surpassing all but one in grade, with that example having been offered at our FUN sale a decade ago. PMG's Population Report indicates they have only graded one example, the Very Good 8 that we have sold twice. Minor edge damage was cited as the reason for the apparent grade on this example. An under appreciation of the rarity of this denomination sometimes causes it to sell for far below what it should, but we certainly do not expect that to be the case with this desirable example.
