    Description

New Jersey 1786 15s Choice Very Fine. In our 30+ sales, we have handled only eight 1786 New Jerseys. Most were 3s examples, and all were notes in low grade or with serious problems. This is the finest 1786 Jersey that we have ever handled, and in fact, it's the finest we've ever seen. It's a broadly margined piece, with two strong signatures and no problems or repairs of any kind. A piece of comparable rarity in Federal Currency would approach the six-figure mark. Colonial, with its much smaller collector base, has always lagged far behind Federal in its pricing structure. A note of this importance and rarity, and in spite of its sound, solid VF grade, will still likely remain under the $5000 mark.
