DescriptionNew Hampshire November 3, 1775 40s PCGS Apparent Fine 15.
A genuine example of this denomination, and as such quite rare. The two highest denominations of this issue (30s and 40s) are far more common as counterfeits than as genuine examples. PCGS has cited edge splits, damage, and hinge repairs on back. A little over a year ago, we sold a counterfeit in a PMG VG 10 Net holder for $352.50. That note was similar in appearance to this one, but it was not a genuine example as this one is.
