    Description

New Hampshire November 3, 1775 30s Fine. This Thirty Shillings note is listed in Newman as a counterfeit, but this issue has always traded hands at the same price for both genuine and counterfeit examples. There is some difference of opinion among experts as to whether these were actual counterfeits or an unauthorized contemporary reissue. The signatures have always appeared to this cataloger to be quite genuine, and identical to those found on issues for which no counterfeits exist. Still, a rare and desirable Americana heirloom that is a little older than the Declaration of Independence. The contemporary repairs have been reinforced with archival tape. Fine, with a couple edge splits.
