Description

    Extremely Rare July 25, 1775 6 Pence

New Hampshire July 25, 1775 6 Pence Fr. NH-131. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent.
This is an extremely rare wide format small change denomination note and was not in the Boyd collection. Notes from this series, when they can be found, average Good. Most of them had to be backed in the period to extend their circulation as they began their existence on a sturdy laid paper that, when creased, would split rapidly. The notes circulated heavily and this lowest denomination example would have been often used to make change. Its survival, one of 4,000 authorized, is a matter of happenstance, like most rare collectible paper money. From the face this is rather attractive overall. Apparent notations consider "Splits, Damage, and Repairs; Pieces Replaced; Partially Backed." However, this is a great rarity.

Truth Seeker: The Life of Eric P. Newman (softcover)
A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
