Nathan Sellers Signed Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $1/6 PMG About Uncirculated 55.
Nathan Sellers was a member of the Sellers family of Philadelphia and Delaware Counties of Pennsylvania that produced many scientists and engineers. He boldly signed this gorgeous fractional Fugio note. Nathan was later active in the American Revolution, but was called back by an Act of Congress as his expertise in wire-working was essential to the manufacture of paper and cartridges that were needed to supply the fledgling Continental Army. The last AU example of this note that we offered was a PMG AU 53 that was not signed by Sellers and it realized $2,400 last April.
