    Description

    Massachusetts October 16, 1778 1s/6d PMG Uncirculated 62 Net.
Net graded for a corner repair, which is accurate but extremely trivial. Under high magnification, it appears as though a minor paper skin in a blank area at the upper left of the back has been lightly recolored. It was not a tear, as there is no trace of it on the face. The note is very nicely margined, and it has much of the look of a Choice Uncirculated piece. This Codfish issue utilizes plates made for the 1776 issue by Paul Revere. The plates were altered by Revere to the proper date, and the faces of these notes were printed in Revere's shop. This note has a beautifully centered face that carries a very strong, sharp Codfish vignette.
