    Description

Massachusetts Commodity Bond January 1, 1780 Fine, HOC. This approximate 10.25 by 5 inch certificate is listed in the William G. Anderson reference, The Price of Liberty, as MA-20 and it is considered by him to be a Low R6 (21 to 30 known.) It is made payable to Joseph Sargent who served in the Continental Army. Three small hole punch cancels are noticed. This is only the second time that we have handled a MA-20 in any of our auctions with this being the better example.
