    Description

Massachusetts Committee War Note. Listed in Anderson as MA 4, and considered by the author to be an R-4 item (75-200 known), this one was issued on December 12, 1777, and was payable for L10 plus interest on December 2, 1779. The embossed seal is visible in the center, and the note was signed by D. Jeffries and I. Scollay for the Committee, and by H. Gardner as Treasurer. The row of angels along the top border adds an interesting visual to this Extremely Fine problem-free piece.
