    Massachusetts August 18, 1775 8s PCGS Apparent Very Fine 20.
    An attractive Revere engraved and printed Sword in Hand note. The face has text in a large cartouche, and a small vignette of a ship at the lower left. The back has the iconic patriot wielding a sword while holding the Magna Charta, an impressive image to place on the money during the period. This is very attractive example that was given the Apparent grade by PCGS for "Minor Restorations," and they are indeed minor. We have sold only one other example of this date and denomination, and that was the Newman example last October, which although only five points lower had missing pieces and bad staining.
