    Description

Massachusetts August 18, 1775 2s Fine. The details of this note match those of Newman's plate note exactly, allowing us to conclude this was printed from the same plate (minor variances of the hand engraved designs exist from plate to plate). The historical significance adds to the appeal of this popular design. This issue was both engraved by Paul Revere and printed in his shop just a few months after his famous ride. This piece was once sewn together along the center fold, but has since been professionally repaired.
