High-Grade August 18, 1775 11 Shillings "Sword in Hand" Note

    Massachusetts August 18, 1775 11 Shillings Fr. MA-167 PCGS About New 50PPQ.
The subsequent denomination from this initial "Sword" issue. High-grade, a great rarity, and superior to all four listed on Track & Price. The note is softly printed compared to the previous example or was printed from a worn plate (that diagnostic similar to the Boyd Collection note sold in Ford Part XV). Not creased, but there is minor handling evident mostly along the edges. The lower left corner is bent. Likely the finest known of the date and denomination.
    From the Hunter Collection.
