Famous Revere Rising Sun Face Plate Design
Massachusetts 1779 4 Shillings 6 Pence Fr. MA-273. PCGS About New 53.The final Massachusetts Revere engraved issue was a combination of the Rising Sun face designs and Thomas Fleet pine tree backs. This denomination has a full sun coming up at the left. Complete margins are seen on the face and the deeply printed back is perfectly aligned to the face. Not often seen like in such top quality. Very few Rising Sun notes are strictly uncirculated, therefore this is a perfect representative type note with an iconic design from Revere engraved plates.
