    Description

    Massachusetts 1779 1s PMG About Uncirculated 53. These notes were printed from newly engraved face plates produced by Paul Revere that included the attractive sun RISING vignette. Only 9411 of these 1 shilling notes were printed. Revere printed the faces while the backs with the pine tree vignette were printed by Thomas Fleet. This attractive example has nice margins and bold ink. PMG has only graded one other example and this note is the higher of the two by far.
