    Massachusetts October 16, 1778 8d PCGS Gem New 65PPQ.
    Tied with one other note for Top Pop at PCGS and one of only four notes graded at or above this level for the entire issue. The back design which is illustrated with a cast cut of a pine tree is unusually sharp and well printed. The tree is often muddy or lightly printed, but on this example even most individual needles and the shading on the trunk of the tree are clearly evident. The face of these notes was engraved and printed by Paul Revere. Any notes associated with Revere have been bringing ever increasing prices over the last few years, and we would certainly anticipate a realization at or above...
