Massachusetts Merchants' Note November 30, 1733 1s6d Good.
A true survivor as this marks the first time an example of this rare issue has ever made its way to the auction setting. Although this is only the lower right-hand portion of the full note, this piece is the only way to add an example of this Massachusetts Colonial to our knowledge. Not even the illustrious collections of Newman or Ford included an example of this evasive note. These promissory notes were made payable to Richard Clarke, who also endorsed the back of the notes. The denomination and year are visible, as well as some of the hand-penned signatures of Edward Hutchinson, James Bowdoin, Hugh Hall, William Foye, and Edward Bromfield, Jr.
From the Colonial Valley Collection, Part II

    Estimate: $250 - up.
