Massachusetts July 8, 1775 Uniface Reprint 10s-18s-12s Uncut Sheet New.
This is only the fourth item we have auctioned from this rare issue with the other three being individual genuine notes of the 9s, 14s, and 18s denominations. Our current offering is of a reprint uncut sheet printed on cardstock from the original printing plate. The plate was defaced, yet the defacement on this plate was not harsh enough to prevent a clear printing of the text and design. Paul Revere engraved the copper plates for this design which were originally for the May 25, 1776 issue. Revere re-engraved the new date of "July 8, 1775" on the plates and then printed the notes for this issue, too. The reprinted notes do not show any handling, while there is handling in the upper corners of the selvage far from the notes. Nonetheless, this is the most economical way to add these notes to your collection. Overall dimensions are approximately 11.75 by 14.75 inches.
