    Description

Massachusetts December 7, 1775 36s Contemporary Counterfeit PCGS Choice About New 55.
A great example of economic warfare as these were printed by the British during the Revolution to undermine the value of Massachusetts currency. It apparently is top pop at both services combined. In our 2014 Central States auction, we sold a pen cancelled PCGS 50 for $1,762 and our 2015 FUN auction, we sold a stained PMG 45 for $1,253. PCGS has commented, "Stained" for this note, which is accurate, but they are extremely minor.
