Massachusetts December 7, 1775 2s8d Fine, Sewn. Contemporarily sewn back together along its split horizontal fold. In spite of its heavy circulation and hand-stitched repair, the note remains appealing to the eye. To may collectors, these notes, repaired with home-spun thread, are more desirable than a note in the same grade with a modern, more sophisticated restoration. This is the scarcer of the first two Sword-in-Hand issues. The later two issues are virtually never encountered. The note has one signature remaining visible, and all of its text on both sides is legible save for a few letters covered by the thread on the front. An important note in spite of its well-used condition.
