Massachusetts August 18, 1775 40s PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.
A pleasing mid-grade example of this rare and extraordinarily popular Massachusetts issue. The note was engraved entirely by Colonial forefather Paul Revere, and it was also printed by him. The act date of the note is just four months to the day after Revere's famous ride. The printing on both sides is sharp and the signatures are quite legible. The vignette of the Continental soldier with his raised sword in his right hand and the Magna Charta in his left, is one of the most evocative designs of the Revolutionary period. Some repair work to the top right corner does little to detract from the overall appearance of this historic piece of Colonial Currency
