    Low-Denomination Sword in Hand Note.

Massachusetts August 18, 1775 2s Choice Very Fine. A good-looking Sword in Hand note, and a very scarce low denomination. This issue was both engraved and printed by Paul Revere. The note is problem-free save for minor restorations along its horizontal center fold. It's very well margined, with every word of the text clear. CAA has sold only six other examples of this issue, and the only other 2s was graded Good - and that was back in 1991. With the current demand for quality Colonial Currency, we would not be surprised to see this note approach a five-figure realization.
