    Description

Massachusetts August 18, 1775 2s/6d PMG Very Fine 20 Net.
After the copperplate notes, the next several series of Revere engraved and printed notes were the "Sword in Hand" types issued across four dates. The face of the note is mostly text with a small ship vignette at the lower left, varying by denomination. The backs used the iconic patriot wielding a sword, presenting an impressive image on the money during the period. Most genuine "Swords" are low grade, but they all have historic charm and many have interesting plate subtleties. This full-size example is a bit mottled. PMG has assigned the Net Grade for "Tape Repairs" which are seen on the back. A rare low denomination type used heavily for change.
