    Description

Massachusetts 1779 5s/4d Very Fine. The face plate for this charming Rising Sun note was engraved by Paul Revere and printed in his shop. The back plate was made from cast type, and was printed by Thomas Fleet. The back of this note is centered a bit right, and the face has two large margins which are cut in at the bottom and right. The Rising Sun vignette, which gives this note both its name and its appeal, is particularly sharp and well printed.
