    Description

    Very Rare "Red Money" Maryland

Maryland May 10, 1781 2s6d PMG Very Fine 25 Net. This is the first "Red Money" Maryland of any denomination that Heritage-CAA has handled. The top margin is partially cut away, and also has a reconstructed area that PMG has mentioned, but the note is primarily a solid Very Fine--and extremely rare as such. The new Newman book lists all denominations of this issue at $3000 in VG, $5000 in Fine, and $7500 in Very Fine, which is the highest grade they price. This is a Very important piece for the Maryland specialist or advanced Colonial generalist.
