    Description

Maryland July 26, 1775 $2 2/3 PCGS Apparent Fine 15. PCGS has assigned the Apparent grade for edge splits and minor tears, which are indeed present, but do not affect the note nearly as much as these are generally affected by crude repairs. This is a wholly respectable example of an extremely rare type with most known survivors far below this piece in quality. The Newman book values this at $15,000 in Fine. And, while this piece is worth considerably less, it is still an important and valuable note.
