    Description

    Maryland December 7, 1775 $1 1/3 PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 45. The emblem on the back of this $1 1/3 note illustrates an arm strapped to the inside of a shield and includes the motto SUB CLYPEO (under divine protection). Thomas B. Hodgkin and John Duckett were the signers on this example and their signatures remain dark. This denomination was equivalent to six shillings sterling. Frederick Green printed these notes in Annapolis. PCGS included a notation concerning a mounting remnant on the back.
