    Description

    Maryland August 14, 1776 $2/3 Good-Very Good.
Two thirds of a dollar was equal to three shillings sterling. This issue was printed by Frederick Green in Annapolis. Frederick and his brother Samuel were the fifth generation of printers in the Green family. Their great-great grandfather Samuel Green was a printer in Cambridge, Massachusetts beginning in 1648. Roughness and areas of paper loss are observed at the margins on this example. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason.
