Description

Maryland April 10, 1774 $1 PMG Choice Very Fine 35 EPQ. The $1 notes from this issue contained two ornaments between the denomination in the bottom border as an anticounterfeiting measure. Anne Catherine Green and son Frederick Green were the printers. The signers were John Clapham and William Eddis. The $1 notes were equivalent to 4 shillings, 6 pence sterling. This lovely, moderately circulated example earned the EPQ designation from PMG.
