    Description

    Maryland April 10, 1774 $1/3 PCGS Apparent New 62.
The apparent grade is for a stain on the back that does not penetrate and is completely invisible from the face. This is the only Uncirculated example of this denomination at either service out of the 82 pieces they have examined. The higher denominations of this issue are much more common Uncirculated, and they tend to sell just into four figures. Our most recent sale of a $1/3 note was a PCGS 45 in Newman for $317.
