DescriptionMaryland 1733 15s-15s-15s-15s-15s;
Maryland 1733 20s-20s-20s-20s-20s.
Remainders are all that exist of Maryland's first issue of 1733, and only a very few of these sheets have not been cut up. In fact we have offered only one example of the 15s sheet, and this is it. In September 2007 it brought $1725. It has corner folds and a lateral bend through the fourth note. Edge chipping is mostly restricted to the first note. A few dispersed edge tears are found, with the longest being approximately half an inch. A left corner reattached with tape is also evident. We have auctioned just two examples of the 20s sheet, and the current offering is one of that pair that was in a single lot also in September 2007. This sheet realized $1035 on a pro rata basis in that auction eight years ago. It has corner folds, a horizontal bend through the fourth note, edge chipping, and scattered edge tears, with the longest running approximately half an inch. About New. (Total: 2 sheets)
Estimate: $2,000 - up.
